SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ) - Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of more than 500 iPads from the Random Lake School District.
According to a news release, the investigation indicates a school district employee was involved in the theft over a period of time.
The school district reported the theft last week.
Sheriff’s say the investigation is continuing and will be referred to the District’s Attorney’s Office after the information needed for the charges has been obtained.
The iPads are estimated to be valued at $180,000.
The iPads were used for student lessons and included both new and older model iPads.
Fox 11 WLUK-TV reports the school district's insurance company has authorized the district to buy replacements.
