GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A Green Bay Elementary school principal's teaching licnese is in jeopardy following her termination more than two weeks ago.
On Wednesday morning, the Green Bay Area Public School District announced Melisa Ellingson was let go on October 16th from her position as principal at Nicolet Elementary.
They did not give a reason, claiming privacy and confidentiality.
The Department of Public Instruction would later confirm to Fox 11 that Ellingson’s teaching license status was placed under investigation the following day.
The DPI says all information pertaining to investigations are kept confidential, and they will only acknowledge an investigation is happening and will share the date of a possible revocation hearing.
In the district's announcement, they said that the safety and education of students and staff was never compromised.
