MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Former Doyle cabinet member Matt Frank has decided not to run for Wisconsin attorney general next year.
Frank said he was not ready to commit up to a decade to the job of running the state Justice Department.
Frank spent 22 years as an assistant attorney general and the head of the Justice Department's legal division. He also served as DNR and corrections' secretaries under former Governor Jim Doyle.
In the AG's race, Frank was considering a run as a Democrat. Milwaukee state Representative Jon Richards is the only declared candidate so far.
Waukesha County DA Brad Schimel is running as a Republican for the post, which will be given up by GOP incumbent J.B. Van Hollen at the end of next year.
