GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The state consumer protection agency is warning of “scaminars”.
Recently, TV infomercials from Dean Graziosi involving get rich real estate programs have been showing up on local cable and TV.
The ad invites you to attend a free seminar being hosted in Appleton, Green Bay, Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, and Wausau to learn about how you can to take advantage of the down local real estate market.
The seminar is typically a high pressure sales pitch to buy their program which is typically books and DVDs.
Sandy Chalmers with the state consumer protection agency says to investigate the business you are looking at getting into and talk with experts and professionals before buying anything that promises fast money.
“That promise of quick easy money can be a powerful lure, but if it was that easy we would all be Warren Buffet” Chalmers said.
Chalmers says there are things you should watch out that are red flags like claims of earning fast money with no prior experience or credit history, it’s only for limited time and positive testimonials of the product.
