Oshkosh police arrest two suspects in mugging

OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - Two men have been arrested in connection with a strong-armed robbery earlier this week in Oshkosh.

Police say a 23-year-old Oshkosh man and a 17-year-old Kenosha boy were picked up during a traffic stop around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of Main Street. Officers then searched the man's home in the 100 block of Cimarron Court, where they say they found items stolen in other incidents.

Officials say the 23-year-old was jailed on counts of robbery, receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana. The 17-year-old was jailed on a count of party to the crime of robbery.

The arrests stem from an incident around 12:40 a.m. in the 1400 block of Oregon Street.

Police say an 18-year-old man was attacked after leaving a gas station. The victim told police his cell phone and wallet were stolen.

He had injuries to his legs and head, but wasn't taken to the hospital.

Investigators say the victim noticed the men while he was at the gas station.
