Brewers knock off Cardinals 6-4 in extra innings Saturday

ST. LOUIS (WTAQ) - A 10th-inning single by Jeff Bianchi plated two runs as the Milwaukee Brewers edged St. Louis 6-4.

John Axford struck out a pinch-hitter with the bases loaded in the 9th and picked up his first win of the season. Jim Henderson locked it down for his 8th save.

Rookie Jean Segura, Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez all had three hits for the Brewers. Segura and Braun knocked in two runs apiece.

The Cardinals had rallied for two runs to tie in the 6th, all four singles coming after two were out.

St. Louis had jumped out on top with two runs in the second, but they left the bases loaded that inning, too.

The Brewers try to take the series in a 1:15 p.m. game Sunday in St. Louis. Former Cardinal Kyle Lohse goes for Milwaukee. Rookie Jim Gast is on the mound for the homestanding Cardinals.
