MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The Wisconsin National Guard's 97th Agribusiness Development Team returned home to their families Friday.
A homecoming ceremony was hosted in Madison.
The 11-member unit agricultural mission was cut short. They were originally slated to spend the rest of the year in Afghanistan.
The unit mobilized in January.
The Wisconsin National Guard says the unit's role shifted from agriculture to prepping a local province for the withdrawal of the allied reconstruction team.
An American drawdown of forces is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
