DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) - Officials at St. Norbert College celebrated the groundbreaking of their state-of-the-art science center Friday.
The 150,000 square foot project will cost $39.2 million, and will house the Medical College of Wisconsin's Green Bay campus.
It will also feature 36 laboratories, a state of the art greenhouse and science gallery.
The school's president says the addition is well overdue.
"We've got beakers that are older than some of the students that are coming in so basically this is going to be state of the art teaching environment, state of the art labs, an anatomy lab. Everything you need to do 21st century science teaching and research. And that's very special for a small liberal arts college like ours,” said Thomas Kunkel, St. Norbert College president.
The project is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2015.
