GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - One of the busiest interchanges in northeast Wisconsin will close during the overnight hours starting Friday.
Construction is already underway on Wisconsin Highway 29 at US 41.
Crews are placing a steel support tub girders for a pair of new flyover ramps. They weigh between 100,000 to 200,000 pounds and will need to be crane lifted and fastened into place.
The work is supposed to last more than a month. WisDOT says between 35 and 45 days, depending on weather.
US 41 Project spokesman Mark Kantola says work should be wrapped up by 6 a.m. the next morning.
An inspector will be on site and will know at what stage in the process if things will be running late. An alert will be sent out around 4 a.m. if they are, so that motorists can plan accordingly.
Work is scheduled to begin 8 p.m. Friday, and resume Monday night.
