St. Louis takes third straight win over Brewers, 7-6 Saturday

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - The Milwaukee Brewers will try to avoid being swept at home when they host the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday.

Three home runs by Jon Jay, Allen Craig and Daniel Descalso powered the Cardinals to a 7-6 victory Saturday at Miller Park.

Then, after all that power, the visitors won the game on a manufactured run in the 9th when Shane Robinson singled, took second on an error, stole third and scored on Jay’s base hit.

The Brewers had tied the score in the bottom of the 8th on a suicide squeeze bunt.

Seth Maness got his first major league win in his second game on a big league mound. Milwaukee closer Jim Henderson took the loss.

Jean Segura had a two-run home run in the first for the Brewers. Carlos Gomez had a solo shot.
