MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Shortly after Milwaukee County Supervisor John Weishan Jr. held a private meeting with County Executive Chris Abele, Weishan said he came away with an uneasy feeling that an aide had been taping the conversation.
It happened January 8th, the day after Weishan learned of draft state legislation supported by Abele which would greatly reduce pay, resources and authority for the County Board.
Weishan said he argued for Abele to focus on other areas, but the County Executive didn’t agree.
Worrying about the possible secret recording, Weishan filed a formal request under the Wisconsin Open Records law for “any transcripts or recordings.”
The reply came three days later, stating no transcripts or recordings existed
