Milwaukee Riverside captured the Division 1 Girls state basketball title tonight at the Resch, defeating Mukwonago 55-41. After a tight first half with the Tigers leading 23-21, they were able to steadily increase the lead by getting to the free throw line, connecting on 21 of 29 attempts. Alona Johnson and Amani Wilborn shared the scoring honors with 15 points each. Amber Gray and Bre Cera led the Indians with 11 apiece. It was a tough year for Mukwonago as both the girls and boys lost the Division 1 championship game. The girls finished 25-3. Riverside wins its first state title in their 4h tournament appearance.
