MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Automatic federal budget cuts means Wisconsin residents who get unemployment benefits will see those checks shrink by 11 percent.

About 30,000 people in this state will be affected starting the week of April 7th. The reductions in benefits will last at least through the end of the federal fiscal year on September 30th.

Eligibility rules are not changing.

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development says people who get jobless benefits from the state will see no change.
