MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Chuck Arnold died Wednesday.
The 77-year-old Arnold was a radio and TV personality in Milwaukee from the 1950’s through the late-70’s.
But his real claim to fame was as a one-time fill-in for Dick Clark on “American Bandstand.” He hosted the iconic TV pop music show on a single day in 1959 – but for years, Milwaukeeans kept asking him if he enjoyed the experience.
WISN Radio sponsored a contest won by a 13-year-old girl who joined Arnold on his trip to Philadelphia for the big show.
He was born in Racine as Chuck Arnold Manger, and grew up in Kalamazoo Michigan.
Funeral services will be held March 23rd in Whitefish Bay.
