GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) - One woman suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash which shut down part of Highway 41 Wednesday.
Wisconsin State Patrol officials say it happened around 11:15 a.m. when a car and semi were both merging into the center lane of U.S. 41 southbound just past College Avenue.
They failed to see each other and crashed. The right front bumper of the semi tractor trailer hit the rear bumper of the car, which rolled over several times. The driver was thrown from the car.
A 38-year-old Appleton woman was taken to the hospital, and as of 1 p.m. ThedaCare health system officials said she was listed in critical condition.
The semi driver, a 47-year-old Green Bay man, was not hurt. No names have been released.
Highway 41 southbound was closed until about 2 p.m. after the crash. The State Patrol continues to investigate.
