Three members of the Green Bay Mens Basketball team were honored by the Horizon League which announced it's post-season awards today. Sophomore Guard Kiefer Sykes of Chicago was named to the All Horizon League first team. Junior Alec Brown was named to the second team and Racine freshman Jordan Fouse was named to the All Newcomer team. Both Brown and Fouse were also named to the Horizon All Defensive Team. Detroit senior Ray McCallum was named the player of the year and he joined Sykes on the first team along with Nick Minnerath of Detroit, Ryan Broekhoff of league champion Valparaiso and Kendrick Perry of Youngstown State. Bryn Forbes of Cleveland State narrowly beat out Fouse, the league rebounding champion for newcomer of the year. Jordan Aaron, a junior transfer for UW-Milwaukee also made the newcomer squad. The defensive player of the year ws Damian Eargle of Youngstown State while Wright State coach Billy Donlon was named the Horizon League coach of the year. The Horizon League conference tournament opens with first round games on campus sites Tuesday, including the 4th seeded Phoenix hosting the 9th seeded Milwaukee Panthers at the Resch Center at 7:00 PM.
