GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The NFL is cracking down on the size of bags and seat cushions.
In a release Thursday, the NFL unveiled a new 2013 stadium policy geared towards improving public safety that will be place by the preseason.
Fans will have very limited options when entering the stadium. You will only will be allowed to bring in a small clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or a one-gallon plastic freezer bag.
Small clutch bags that are the size of a hand will be allowed.
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items.
In a statement, the league says "prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size."
The Packers, Green Bay Police and other local law enforcement will be meeting to determine the best implementation of the new policy.
Current security measures include pat downs, bag checks, and metal detecting wands.
