Manhunt for two missing Waushara County jail inmates

WAUTOMA, WI (WTAQ) - The search is on for two inmates missing from the Waushara County jail.

Officials say four inmates with work release privileges were released from the jail Thursday at 7:30 a.m. The inmates' employer later told the Waushara County Sheriff's Department the inmates were being sent back to jail because they weren't needed.

At 1 p.m., sheriff's deputies began searching for the inmates as they hadn't returned to the jail.

Authorities say one inmate returned to the jail voluntarily later Thursday, and one was arrested at a residence on Czech Drive in the town of Dakota Friday night.

Officials are still searching for the remaining two inmates, Michael Watford of Wautoma and Timothy Doud of Redgranite. The two are serving sentences for property crimes and don't have a history of assault, but authorities say they should be considered dangerous because of the situation.

Watford is described as a white male, age 22, with blue eyes and brown hair. He is 5'7" and 140 pounds.

Doud is described as a white male, aged 21, with brown eyes and brown hair. He is 6'0" and 190 pounds.

Authorities say one of the suspects may be wearing a Bears sweatshirt, but they believe the two may have burglarized a home in the Dakota area for additional clothing.

Doud and Watford have friends and family in the Wautoma and Montello area.

Warrents for arrests are out for both, and anyone who sees Doud and Watford should call the local law enforcement agency or the Waushara County Sheriff's Office at 920-787-3321 as soon as possible.
