Both teams know the way to Time Warer Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute. The top ranked Bay Port Pirates and the Notre Dame Tritons are returning to the WIAA State Baseball Tournament after scoring sectional championship victories Thursday night. Bay Port is off to state for the 4th time in the last five years after routing the Antigo Red Robbins 10-0 in five innings on the Pirates home diamond. Brett Neuville was the Pirate star, pitching a complete game one hitter and delivering a 3 run home run that made the score 6-0 in the second. Bay Port waited two days since the sectional semifinal Tuesday afternoon while Antigo needed extra innings Thursday to eliminate Ashwaubenon 5-4. The Pirates played well rested, scoring in all four inings before Neuville finished off the Red Robbins with a 1-2-3 fifth. Ranked number one in Division 1, Bay Port will meet Hartford in the state quarterfinals next week. The Pirates won back to back state titles in 2009 and 2010. In Division 2, Notre Dame will return to state for the second time in three years after beating Fox Valley Lutheran 5-4 in Luxemburg. The back and forth game wasn't settled until Dominic Golubiewski delivered a two out, run scoring single in the top of the 7th and Nick Zacharias set down the Foxes in order for the win. Notre Dame will face Ellsworth in the state semifinals next Wednesday night.
