Brewers save best for last, beat Cubs

The Milwaukee Brewers opened a four game series at Wrigley Field with a better late than never, 5-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs Monday night.   Kyle Lohse and Jeff Samardzja were hooked up in a pitcher's duel.  Lohse went six innings, giving up five hits and striking out.  Samardja was even better, allowing only three hits through seven innings with seven strikeouts.   With Pedro Strop on in relief, the Brewers rallied for all five runs in the top of the night.  Carlos Gomez drove in the first run with a single followed by two run doubles from Jeff Bianchi and Rickie Weeks.  Brandon Kintzler (3-0) got the win in relief.  The Brewers (44-61) play a day-night doubleheader Tuesday at Wrigley Field.  Yovani Gallardo faces Carlos Villeneuva in the opener.  Pre-game coverage is on WNFL beginning at 12:45 PM.  The nightcap has Tyler Thornburg pitching.  That will be heard on WTAQ with pre-game coverage starting at 6:35 PM.
