Driver calls it a career

by

Donald Driver saved his last dance for the Packers.  The Pack's all time leader in several receiving categories will formally announce his retirement at a public ceremony at Lambeau Field next Wednesday, February 6.  Packers.com reported this morning that Driver will retire with the announcement held in front of fans in the Atrium at 11:00 AM.  "I played my entire career in Green Bay and have always enjoyed a special bond with the fans," Driver said in a statement released by the team.  "I can't think of no better way to retire than to celebrate with them and the Packers organization."  A  long shot 7th round draft choice out of Alcorn State in 1999, Driver perservered to set team records in receptions (743), receiving yards (10,137) and holds several other team records such as 7, 1000 yard seasons and making at least one catch in 133 consecutive games.  Reduced to a part-time role in 2012, Driver had just 8 catches with two touchdowns.  Fans can attend the ceremony free of charge but tickets are required.  They will be distributed on a first come, first served basis beginning Friday, February 1 at 9:00 AM at the Packers ticket office.  There will be a limit of four tickets per person.
