The Milwaukee Brewers have re-signed shortstop Alex Gonzalez to a one year deal reportedly worth one and a half million dollars. Incentives could earn the veteran another million. Gonzalez was a free agent signed by the Crew last year but played in only 24 games before suffering a season ending knee injury in May. He hit .259 with four home runs and 15 runs batted in before the injury. Gonzalez is expected to back up Jean Segura at short this year.
