UNDATED (WSAU)  The National Weather Service has issued wind-chill advisories until 9am Tuesday morning for far western Wisconsin, and until noon Tuesday for the rest of the state.

A large Arctic air mass moved into the Badger State during the weekend – and it’s expected to hang around at least until the middle of the week. Superior had the coldest wind chill at three this morning at 32-below. About the northern third of Wisconsin had wind chills in the minus-20s, while the rest of the state was in the minus-teens-and-single digits. Actual temperatures ranged from 12-below at Superior to 12-above at Janesville – where it was snowing. Several Wisconsin cities had light snow or flurries during the night. There’s a chance of more flurries today, with highs close to zero statewide.

Forecasters say wind chills could peak in the 30-to-40-below range all the way into Tuesday. Most areas expect a slight improvement this afternoon, before the colder wind chills return tonight and tomorrow morning. Actual temperatures could get down to 21-below by tomorrow morning.

A slight warm-up is expected on Wednesday, with highs in the teens in most of the state.
