The Green Bay Phoenix women were expected a stiff challenge from the University of Detroit in their Horizon League opener Tuesday night. The teams played for the Horizon tournament championship last spring, won by Green Bay. This match however, was no contest. Green Bay dominated defensively in winning 62-31. The Phoenix held the nation's second leading scorer, Shareeta Brown, to 8 points, 18 below her average. It was a season low in points allowed for the team. Adrian Ritchie led the way with 19 points and 7 steals. Megan Lukan and Lydia Bauer each scored 11 as Green Bay won it's 11th game of the year against two losses. The Phoenix return to the Kress Events Center Saturday at noon to face Wright State.
