Charges due Thursday morning for missing woman's husband

ST. PAUL, MN (WSAU) -  A missing Wausau area woman’s husband remains in a Minnesota jail, but no charges have been filed yet.

On Tuesday, Kira Steger Trevino’s husband Jeffrey was arrested on suspicion of murder, but so far, Ramsey County Minnesota prosecutor John Choi has not filed formal charges. If he’s going to file charges, the deadline is 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning unless he seeks a time limit extension.

St. Paul Police Sergeant Paul Paulos said Tuesday they found enough evidence inside the Trevino home to believe a crime was committed there. Paulos has not said what kind of evidence investigators recovered. In the meantime, Kira Steger Trevino is still considered missing and authorities invite anyone with information or any recent contact with Kira to call them at (651) 266-5650.

Kira Steger Trevino graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 2001 and has been a store manager in the Mall of America for the past six years. She is a white female, 5 foot 4, 110 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes.
