ST. PAUL, MN (WSAU) - A St. Paul Minnesota woman originally from the Wausau area is still missing, and her husband has been arrested. 30-year-old Kira Steger Trevino has been missing since late Thursday night. A search began when she failed to show up for work Friday.
Trevino is a store manager at Delia’s clothing store in the Mall of America. Her car was found in the mall parking ramp in an area she doesn’t usually use, with her purse and cellphone inside the car.
St. Paul Police Sergeant Paul Paulos confirms the last person to see her is now under arrest. "We did make an arrest in connection with the disappearance of Kira, and it was her husband Jeffrey Travino, 37 years of age.”
Paulos says they have her husband in custody, but they are still hoping to find Kira alive. "We don't know if she's dead. We're still considering her missing. What we do have is enough evidence to arrest her husband.” Police cannot comment on exactly what that evidence is, since the investigation is still ongoing.
Investigators encourage anyone with any kind of information about Kira Trevino to call them, because it could help find her and solve the case. "If they heard anything, if they were here on vacation or whatever and they did travel home, we'd be willing to hear from friends or family she may have there that she may have reached out to about her experiences here in Minnesota.”
Kira Steger Trevino is a 2001 D.C. Everest High School graduate. She is 5-3 and about 110 pounds, has shoulder length blonde hair and green eyes.
Family members and friends have started a Facebook page to help get information out to the public about Kira Trevino’s disappearance.
