MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Marquette retains its hold on the top spot in the Big East Conference standings with an 89-78 win over DePaul.

Vander Blue led the way with 18 points, while Junior Cadougan added 17.

The game extended a couple of streaks – 22 consecutive home victories for Marquette and 8 straight losses for the Blue Demons.

It won’t be easy for the Golden Eagles to stay on top. They still have conference games remaining with Syracuse, Notre Dame and Georgetown.

Offensive rebounding was a big weapon for the Eagles. They only missed 24 shots and got the rebound on half of them.

Marquette’s record is now 17-5, including 8-2 in conference play.
