MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Two three-pointers by Ben Brust, one to end regulation and the other in overtime, powered the Wisconsin Badgers to a 65-62 upset of number-one ranked Michigan Saturday.
The shot which forced overtime had the crowd in Madison buzzing.
The Badgers trailed by 3 and had less than 3 seconds on the clock when Brust took a pass at mid-court, dribbled once and fired up a prayer to tie the score and keep the Big Ten Conference game going.
Michigan becomes the 3rd top-three team to lose this week and this should be the 6th straight week with a different team on top the AP Top 25 rankings.
Brust scored 14 points to lead the Badgers, including four from outside the arc.
Wisconsin’s record is now 17-7, including 8-3 in the Big Ten.
Jared Berggren added 13 points and took down 8 rebounds. The Badgers had four players in double figures. For both teams it was the second straight game which went an extra period.
