The Fighter star was tipped in the Best Supporting Actress category in 2006 for her role in independent movie Junebug - but Adams' day didn't go as planned and she ended up breaking down in tears.

She tells E! News, ""I had a meltdown that morning because I left my (car) lights on while I was having breakfast at Kings Road Cafe (in Los Angeles).

""My car wouldn't start and then I couldn't find my camera. I cried… My boyfriend had a really good laugh about me on Oscar morning, crying.""

Adams is hoping to end a run of defeats in the Best Supporting Actress category at the Academy Awards later this month (Feb13) - she has been nominated four times but never won. She's up for the award again this year for her role in The Master.
