HUDSON, WI (WTAQ) - A prosecutor in far western Wisconsin is facing his second drunk driving violation in a year-and-a-half.
Authorities said Pierce County assistant district attorney Thomas “Greg” Amann drove into a ditch, hit some trees, and fled the scene on foot. It happened last Friday night on a snow and slush-covered road northeast of Hudson.
A St. Croix County deputy cited the 55-year-old Amann for OWI, driving at an unsafe speed, and not reporting an accident.
Online court records did not list the new case Tuesday morning.
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram said it could not immediately find out whether it would affect Amann’s job status as a part-time prosecutor.
Amann’s first drunk driving citation was in the fall of 2011 on I-94 in St. Croix County. He was fined $817 and had his driver’s license suspended for six months, with a blood alcohol level of 0.12.
