A costly homestand opener for the Milwaukee Brewers as they lose 2-1 to the Cincinnati Reds and lose All-Star Centerfielder Carlos Gomez.   In the 4th inning, Gomez ran down another long fly ball, crashing into the wall but this time it really hurt.   He crashed into the padding but landed awkwardly on his knee.  Initially called a knee sprain, Manager Ron Roenicke said it didn't look good.  An MRI was taken last night and results are expected today.   Khris Davis his a solo home run in the second inning for the early lead but the Reds tied the game in the 5th and went ahead in the 6th when Joey Votto launched a homer run off starter and loser Kyle Lohse (8-8).   Lohse was charged with two runs on five hits in seven innings.   Tony Cingrani got the win, allowing a run on four hits with 9 strikeouts in six and a third innings. Aroldis Champman recorded his 30th save.   Tom Gorzelany will be on the mound in game two of the four game series Friday night.  Pre-Game coverage begins at 6:35 PM on WTAQ.
