Wisconsin native Zimmerman shuts down Brewers 4-1 Friday

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Wisconsin native Jordan Zimmermann earned his 13th win of the season, defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 4-1 Friday.

The Auburndale native pitched six solid innings for the Washington Nationals, allowing no runs on 4 hits and 5 strikeouts.

Milwaukee’s only run of the night came in the 8th inning, when Jonathan Lucroy sent a solo shot over the center wall.

Zimmermann is now 4-0 all-time against his home-state team.

On an injury note, Brewers starting pitcher Tom Gorzelanny left the game in the second inning after being hit by a liner. Team officials say he suffered a left elbow contusion and x-rays were negative.
