MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - The plan containing a series of cuts for the Milwaukee County Board has been approved in committee and will go to the full Board of Supervisors.
The proposal announced last week by Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic was at least partly an effort to head off a bill at the Capitol which contains even more dramatic cuts.
Monday’s vote was 6-1.
The plan includes a pay cut for supervisors of 20 percent, staff reductions of 50 percent and the terms served by supervisors shortened from four years to two.
It is expected to come up for a vote Thursday where passage is anticipated.
