APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - The Northeast Wisconsin Old Glory Honor Flight is bringing its first group of Korean War veterans to Washington DC.
The trip is Thursday out of Outagamie County Regional Airport.
A group of ten Korean War veterans will spend the day in D.C. visiting the national memorial erected in honor of their fight overseas.
The flight happens to come when friction between North Korea and South Korea, along with the United States, is back in the headlines.
Thursday’s Old Glory Honor flight also includes 80 World War II veterans, who will visit their national war monument.
