SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) - A Shawano man is facing felony charges for allegedly robbing a credit union on Monday afternoon.
47-year-old Darrin Church demanded money in a note he handed to a teller at the CoVantage Credit Union in Shawano. Church then fled to a nearby home where he was arrested within an hour.
Authorities say they were already on Church’s trail because 20 minutes early he attempted a similar robbery.
Before walking into the credit union, he handed a note to the teller at the cash advance store Cash Tyme just a few blocks away. But the teller refused to give him any money.
Police say Church didn't show or threaten anyone with a weapon.
Church was charged Tuesday with two felonies related to the robbery, as well as two misdemeanors for bail jumping and obstructing an officer.
