Parts of five rivers have flood warnings Tuesday

AFTON, WI (WTAQ) - Parts of five rivers in Wisconsin have flood warnings – and two of them were over their banks Tuesday morning.

The Rock River was 1 to 5 inches above its flood stages at both Afton and Newville, with only minor floods taking place. The river at Afton was expected to return within its banks on Saturday.

The Trempealeau River at Dodge was almost a foot-and-a-half above its flood stage overnight, but only minor flooding is predicted before the river drops on Friday.

The National Weather Service has also posted warnings for the Black River at Galesville and Black River Falls, the Fox River at new Munster in Kenosha County, and the Yellow River at Babcock in Wood County.

None of those three rivers were over their banks Tuesday morning. But that’s expected to happen in the next couple days, with minor floods predicted.

Light rain, freezing rain, and snow are in the forecast for the next three days in much of the Badger State.

Tuesday morning, nine counties between Fond du Lac and Kenosha have dense fog advisories until 11 a.m., with visibilities of a quarter-mile or less. That includes Milwaukee.
