Ex-County Parks Director Black is new owner of Milwaukee Wave

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Former Milwaukee County Parks Director Sue Black has become the new owner of the Milwaukee Wave pro indoor soccer team.

The announcement was made at a news conference Wednesday, less than two months after Black became the team’s president and CEO.

The 52-year-old Black bought Wisconsin’s Major Indoor Soccer League franchise from Jim Lindenberg – a former wire company owner who said he only anticipated owning the Wave for a year or two. His tenure ended up being four years.

Terms of his sale were not disclosed.

Coach Keith Tozer led the Wave to a team-record 16-game winning streak this past season, but they lost to Missouri in the playoff semi-finals. That denied Milwaukee of a third straight MISL championship.
