MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) - More people can drive fewer miles to see a doctor soon. Marshfield Clinic is expanding its telehealth program now used to connect St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander to the Marshfield facility. The clinic received a $1,000,000 grant this week, allowing them to install the system at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, and Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls
Use of this videoconferencing and telecommunications system started in 1997. It allows medical staff to diagnose and treat patients without making a trip to a specialist in Marshfield. This expansion will be used in part for treating severely sick and injured children, and also to expand the e-hospitalist program to Rice Lake.
