MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A jury was being picked Monday afternoon for the trial of a Milwaukee woman accused of killing a pregnant mother, and pulling a full-term child from the victim’s womb.
34-year-old Annette Morales-Rodriguez has pleaded not guilty to two homicide charges in the death of 23-year-old Maritza Ramirez-Cruz and her unborn son.
It happened last October on a Milwaukee street.
Prosecutors said Morales-Rodriguez could not deliver her own child because she had miscarriages. So she allegedly faked being pregnant, and she reportedly attacked an expectant mother and keep the unborn child for her own.
Morales-Rodriguez had earlier pleaded insanity – but she changed her plea last week. If convicted of both counts, she faces two life prison terms.
