GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Emotions ran hot, both on the field and in the stands, as the Green Bay Packers defense led the charge in a 23-10 win over the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field Thursday.
Constant pressure from the Packers (1-1) defense made life miserable for Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who was sacked seven times, threw 4 interceptions and otherwise danced around. Linebacker Clay Matthews got 3-and-a-half of those sacks, and cornerback Tramon Williams pick off two of those errant passes.
Special teams played a key part as well, with 3 Mason Crosby field goals and a fake one, which turned into a Tim Masthay pitch to backup tight end Tom Crabtree, who ran 27 yards for a touchdown.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers 22-of-32 for 219 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Former Bears running back Cedric Benson got 116 total yards, including 81 on the ground.
The Bears fall to 1-1.
