PESHTIGO, WI (WTAQ) - A Peshtigo nursing home is shuttering its doors because of a so called labor dispute.
That’s according to management at Whispering Oaks Care Center.
However, nurses and workers say their last two paychecks have bounced.
Management says they are closing their doors and relocating 26 residents to make sure they get the care they need until such time that the labor dispute can be resolved.
The state Department of Health Services says they have been monitoring the facility since 2011 after getting financial complaints. They say the closing is voluntary by the owner.
