GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin Public Service is sending crews and equipment out to the east coast to help restore power to millions of energy customers.
WPS says they are sending 20 line technicians and three support staff along with eleven trucks out to Connecticut.
They are expected to be out there for the next couple weeks. Crews will help clear fallen power lines, replace damaged poles, and rebuild power distribution systems
WPS spokeswoman Lisa Prunty says crews are coming from several different locations within the WPS service territory.
As of Wednesday morning, 8 million customers were in the dark in 17 states.
