WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - Authorities have arrested one person and seized hundreds of packets of synthetic marijuana from a pair of Fox Cities gas stations.

It's the result of a two month long investigation by the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group Unit and Department of Justice.

Last Thursday, investigators served a search warrant at the BP gas station located at 1200 Plank Road in Menasha. Authorities say 464 packets of marijuana-like products were seized.

Later that day, a second search warrant was served at the Marathon gas station located at 309 1st Street in Neenah. There investigators seized 47 packets of the illegal drug.

During the investigation, authorities made 5 separate purchases of fake pot from four different employees.

The case has been forwarded to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office.
