Oconto Falls HS science teacher selected for National Teacher of the Year

OCONTO FALLS, WI (WTAQ) - An Oconto Falls High School science teacher is heading to the big show. 

JoAnn Miller will represent Wisconsin at the National Teacher of the Year program. She was one of four state teachers of the year for Wisconsin.  The State Department of Instruction selected Miller to move forward. 

As a nominee, The Herb Educational Kohl Foundation is awarding Miller with $6,000. 

Miller earned a science degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, served in the U.S. Navy and a quality manager in the food industry. 

Miller has been noted for her work in starting the high school’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Symposium and Beaker Buddies program.
