SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) - Witnesses say a black bear was spotted Sunday morning in downtown Shawano.

The bear was found in a tree near the intersection of Center and Union Streets.

Shawano County officials said the cub became scared and started climbing down the tree. Department of Natural Resources officials decided it had to be tranquilized. 

DNR officials then moved the bear to a safe area in Shawano County.
