MADISON, WI (WSAU) -  A Monroe Wisconsin man was sentenced for illegal sports bookmaking. Werner Rast will spend 18 months on probation, but he must pay 10 thousand dollars in fines and undergo alcohol and other drug assessment with any prescribed treatment and submit a DNA sample. The Attorney General’s office says Rast was taking football bets from 2005 to 2007 and NCAA basketball bets in 2006 and 2007. Betting on sports is illegal in Wisconsin.
