GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Utility customers of Wisconsin Public Service could see a small break on their bill next year.
WPS says it has adjusted its request with state regulators for 2013's rates. The new request seeks no increase in electric rates and a 1 percent decrease in natural gas rates.
"Current economic forecasts are improved over those used in the initial filing," WPS rate Case Director David Kyto said in a statement. "In addition, because of lower fuel costs, we have a refund to pass along to customers. We propose to use that refund to offset increased costs. If the Commission agrees, there will be no electric rate increase for 2013."
The 2013 rates still need to be approved by the state Public Service Commission.
