AP All State Football Team

The Associated Press announced it's 2012 All State High School Football team on the holiday.  The Coach of the year is Dave Keel of Division 2 state champion Mequon Homestead.  The Player of the year is running back Matt Hubley of Division 3 champion Waukesha Catholic Memorial.  Several players from Northeast Wisconsin were recognized.  On the first team all-state is linebacker Nathan Paup of Green Bay Southwest, linebacker Matt Austin of Fon du Lac Springs,  punter Cal McCarty of Southern Door and the all-purpose player on the first team is Eric Kittel of Brillion.   Second teamers included running back Nathan Peters of Freedom, offensive lineman Stephen Idlas of Appleton North and defensive back Keegan Wirtz of West De Pere.  Players named to honorable mention list include, Owen Henrickson and Eric Roberts of Plymouth, Brad Ambrosius and Matt Bjork of West De Pere, Brett Kasper of Two Rivers, Dylan Hecker of Winneconne, Eric Felder of St. Mary's Springs, Kenny Cardew of Appleton North, Sam Menzies of Waupaca and Ben Diedrick of Kimberly.
