GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee woman has filed a lawsuit against after being injured by a Brown County sheriff’s squad car during a high speed pursuit.

The squad car crashed into her along Highway 41 in Suamico back in early July. 

27-year-old Michele Lecker suffered massive injuries and was in critical condition after the incident. She suffered internal injuries and a broken neck. 

Authorities from several agencies were pursuing a stolen Dodge Viper and the Brown County deputy lost control, skidded across the median, smashing into Lecker's sedan. 

Lecker’s attorney says the accident was caused by the deployment of stop sticks, that are intended to flatten the tires of the suspect vehicle, either by the Sheriff's or Village of Suamico Police.

No specific dollar amount was listed under damage sought.
