The WIAA State Football crowned four state champions at Camp Randall Stadium on Thursday. In Division 7, Glenwood City rallied from a 14-6 halftime deficit by scoring 22 third quarter points in handing Potosi its only loss of the season 46-21. Glenwood City won it's third state title in school history. In Division 6, Bob Hyland has another. The winningest coach in state high school history made it back to back titles as Fondu Lac St. Mary's Springs defeated Eau Claire Regis in a battle of unbeatens 24-14. Amherst won it's very first state title in Division 5, beating Lancaster 19-7. It was another matchup of 12-0 teams and the Falcons won the game despite only 38 yards on the ground. The Division 4 game went to overtime and Someset defeated Walworth Big Foot 35-33 as the Somerset defense stopped a two point conversion attempt in the first overtime. Three more titles will be awarded Friday with Waupaca meeting Waukesha Catholic Memorial in Division 3, Homestead against Waunakee in Division 2 and Arrowhead taking on Sun Prairie in Division 1.
